Rental period
Is there a minimum rental period?
Yes, to rent one of our apartments, condos or houses, you must sign for a minimum of 31 days.
Is there a maximum rental period?
No, there is no maximum period for renting one of our apartments, condos or houses. Your rental contract includes a clause stating the period for which you are renting the unit. You can also extend your rental agreement: 30 days before your contract ends, you will receive an email asking whether you would like to extend your stay.
Is the rental month to month?
The rental has a minimum of 31 days. After that, you can rent by the day, the week or the month. You will find the flexibility you need.
Does the rental of a mini house have to last more than 30 days?
Our fleet of mini houses was designed specifically to meet the needs of remote regions, in particular for short-term relocations. You can therefore rent your mobile home by the day to get the flexibility you need.
Regulations
Do I have to sign a lease to live in one of Kondo’s units?
No, you do not have to sign a lease. Instead, you sign a fixed-term rental contract. This contract frames the agreement between you and Kondo and states the start and end dates of your rental. The duration cannot be shortened, but you can extend the contract.
What is a fixed-term rental contract?
A fixed-term rental contract is the equivalent of a lease, but for short-term rentals. It states the start and end dates of the rental period. The duration of the agreement cannot be shortened, but it can be extended.
To do so, 30 days before your contract ends, when you receive a notice by email, you must ask to extend your contract. If you do not use this renewal, the unit will be put back on the market in the system so that other people can benefit from it.
Does the rental have to start on the 1st of the month?
No, the rental does not have to start on the 1st day of the month. Your rental starts on the day of your choice, whether during the week or on the weekend.

In which areas are your rental units located?
We own condos and houses for rent in the Québec City region as well as in Greater Montréal. We serve both the North Shore and the South Shore of these two regions. Our head office is in Québec City. As we are constantly expanding, stay tuned for the new areas covered by our temporary housing rental service by subscribing to the newsletter.
Do you accept pets?
Yes, we accept pets. Cats and small dogs are welcome. We also have a few units that allow larger dogs. All members of your family, even your furry companions, can therefore live under the same roof without any problem.
How far in advance should I book a unit with Kondo?
If the unit you want is available, you can move in right away. If you know in advance the date on which you will need the unit, contact us as soon as possible so that we can coordinate the short-term rental contract.
What are the steps to rent temporary housing?
To rent temporary housing (31 days or more) or to extend your stay by the day, the week or the month, you must call a Kondo rental advisor. Once you have made your choice, a contract will be sent to you by email. You only need to sign it electronically and return the document to us. We will then carry out a credit check.
Is home insurance required?
You must take out liability insurance, which is automatically included in your policy if you have home insurance.
How can a mini house be delivered if I have no access to any sanitary services?
To deliver a mini house to an environment without access to sanitary services, we offer mini houses that can be supplied by factory trailers. These trailers are designed to provide complete autonomy. They include incineration equipment for wastewater, a complete water management system and an energy regeneration device. This lets you set up your mini house even in remote places such as the middle of a forest, while keeping a high level of autonomy and comfort.

What is included in a furnished unit?
A fully furnished unit includes everything you need to be comfortable during your rental stay. You arrive with your personal belongings, and that’s it.
From the living room furniture to the bedroom furniture, including the dining room, everything is there. The television, light fixtures and appliances, such as the washer, dryer and dishwasher, are provided. Likewise, dishes, utensils, cleaning products and bedding such as sheets and towels are supplied.
Unlimited high-speed Internet, cable, electricity, heating, lighting and air conditioning are also included in your temporary rental.

Is a housekeeping service offered?
The housekeeping service is not included in our rental contracts.
We also separate the cost of cleaning services from the rental fees, so as not to increase the monthly rent of our units.
Housekeeping fees are billed only once, at the end of the rental contract.
